    • OBITUARY: The Manti Messenger, Thursday 11 February 1904:. Mr. Knopp was born in Moroni 27 years ago and has spent all his life in this county. His father died several years ago and the support of the family, of one brother and five sisters, was left to deceased, he being the oldest child. Mr. Knopp attended the Snow Academy for some time and was considered a good student. Too much cannot be said in his favor. During the year he lived in Manti, Mr. Knopp made many warm friends who will miss him at the court house. During the illness Mr. Knopp's mother was at his bedside day and night. The neighbors and friends were very kind and did everything possible for the young man. The body was taken to Moroni on the Saturday morning train and buried the same day. There was no public funeral owing to the smallpox epidemic in Moroni. We sincerely sympathize with the mother and family in their sorrow and bereavement.
